This is plain English. Adult Weather is a small, one-person operation. We don't have a data team, we don't have a lawyer on retainer, and we don't sell anything about you to anyone. Here's exactly what we do.
"Adult Weather" refers to the website at adultweather.com and its operator. Contact: hello@adultweather.com.
When you visit Adult Weather, we look up your approximate location from your IP address using a third-party service called ipapi.co. This gives us your city and rough coordinates — enough to fetch the right weather for you. We don't request GPS-level access. We don't track you.
If you search for or save a different city, that becomes your active location instead.
We set a small number of first-party cookies in your browser. None of them track you across other sites.
aw_age_verified — confirms you've passed the 18+ age gate, so you don't see it on every visit.aw_mode — remembers whether you picked Mild, Adult, or Crass.aw_unit — remembers Fahrenheit or Celsius.aw_location — remembers your most recent location so we don't re-lookup on every visit.If you save favorite locations using the ★ button, we store them in your browser's localStorage under the key aw_favorites. This data lives entirely on your device — we never see it. You can clear it any time through your browser settings.

This data is stored in our MySQL database on our hosting provider. Outbound email is sent via Resend, a transactional email service.
If you use the Contact form, your name, email, message, and IP address are sent to hello@adultweather.com. We keep contact form submissions only as long as needed to respond. We don't add you to any mailing list automatically.
Adult Weather participates in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. When you click an Amazon link from our Gear Picks section and make a qualifying purchase, we earn a small commission at no additional cost to you. Amazon may set cookies on your device through these links — those are governed by Amazon's Privacy Notice, not ours.
The following services see some of your data when you use Adult Weather:
Every daily forecast email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Click it and you're out — your record is deleted from our database within 24 hours.
Email us at hello@adultweather.com to request a copy of any data we have about you, or to have it permanently deleted. We honor these requests within 30 days regardless of where you live.
You have the right to know what personal information we collect, to delete that information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell personal information to any party. To exercise any rights, contact hello@adultweather.com.

You have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and to object to processing. Contact us to exercise them.
Adult Weather is explicitly not for anyone under 18. We have an age gate on every visit. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If we discover a subscriber is under 18, we delete the account.
Our database is on a shared hosting environment with standard protections (encrypted at rest, firewalled). Email subscriptions use double opt-in. API keys and credentials are stored outside the public web root. That said: no internet system is bulletproof. If we ever experience a breach affecting subscribers, we'll notify affected users by email within 72 hours.
If we change anything substantive, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top and, for material changes affecting subscribers, send a notice email. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated policy.
